The distinctive texture, aroma, more intense flavour and straw colour of the pasta, allow it to stand out from the others.

It is an aged cheese that maintains a balanced not sharp flavour and not spicy, and its long aging lowers and decreases the concentration of animal protein.

It is easily digestible, is nutritious and is suitable for children.

Served in flakes, also accompanied by balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano is a great appetizer for the most demanding palates or as a perfect sauce for pasta, rice and soups.


It also has two marks on the cheese wheels: "Reggiana Breed" property of the ANABoRaRe and "Vacche Rosse" (“Red Cows”), sold for use and applied by the individual producers concerned.


Over 22 months of ageing

Characteristics: The aromas are accentuated, you can appreciate notes of melted butter and fresh fruit, citrus fruits make an appearance alongside hints of nuts. The cheese evolves into a balance of sweet and savoury, it is perfectly soluble, crumbly and grainy.

Combinations: Perfect with quite structured red wines. Great if presented in cut petals in a fruit salad dressed with balsamic vinegar from Modena or Reggio Emilia. Ideal accompaniment to any kind of nuts, it is superb with prunes and figs.
